Thanks for your reply, CC. I set up a date and place for a screening, but I cannot find the 'click here to screen' button on this page: http://www.exodos.cc/screening/

So here is all the information needed for the screening:

Please let me know how to get the download link.

Hi,
sure this project is still alive. It was a special try to publish a movie via this private-public screening method, and we announced this for may and june 2011. It will still go on and you also can arrange a screening in August and we will provide you a download link to do that. We are working on publishing it as a torrent file, so from now on everybody can show/copy and so on the movie. And for sure CC is CC. It was just a try to give the CC-publishing another attention. Just tell us, when you will do your screening, and we will be happy to tell you where you can download the file. Thanks for your attention.

Hi,

1) is this project still alive? All entries on this page seem to be older than a month. I'd like to watch the movie, but just found out about it. Can I still arrange a screening in late August?

2) Also I'm confused how the movie can be CC but you don't share it via download-link? Wouldn't it be okay to share it after the screening since you can't prohibit sharing of a CC'ed movie?

Cheers and thank you

"Dear Antje & Matthias,
I watched the film. But no film, MOVIE! The pictures, the actors, the story are fantastic.
I'm truly glad, that I have been a part of your work.
I hope, you will be once as successful world-wide known movie makers as you wish, and as I wish for you.
Best wishes from Hungary, Zoltán (Zapac)"

Troy Copes writes at THE UNCOMMON GEEK:
"Movie Review: Exodos… a fully licensed Creative Commons movie.

Greetings Programs!
It seems as though, dispite how much I enjoy watching movies, I am somewhat picky about the movies I do watch. I will never turn down watching an awesome sci-fi movie, just to let you know, but indie films have always been hit or miss for me.

I have seen quite a few indie flicks. Some good, and some not so much. But I have never seen a movie that has been released under a full Creative Commons license until I heard about Exodos.

Exodos takes place in Northern Europe during winter time. It is about a photographer named Boris, who is known for photographing pantyhose fetish. Because of all the crap going on in the world, he starts to suffer from erectile dysfunction. As the movie continues, we meet other people who live in the same town as Boris who all become affected by his declining mood. Everyone’s story ties into his, and in the end, he realizes what he can do to help improve his part of the problem.

This is a very brief synopsis of Exodos. The movie has so many facets about it, that it seems like a movie that the more you watch it, the more you get out of it, and the more you realize how much it reflects at least some aspect of your life. I am a photographer, so I can relate a lot with Boris, minus the ED issue. But aside from knowing what it is like to get burnt out on a photo project, I also relate to the environmental issues of the movie. Exodos is filled with environmental awareness. Jackie, a key character in the film, helps Boris see a little of what is going on in the world, even in his own city. Jackie also helps others in the film turn some aspect of their lives around to be more echo-friendly, even to the smallest degree.

The production value of Exodos is extremely well done! You can tell that great care was taken with the lighting, cinematography, pre and post production, everything looks very professional! At times, though, the sound levels are a little off, but to me, that only adds to the movie. Their were a few times where it did make it a little hard to understand the international broken English dialog, which I absolutely LOVE, by the way!

In all, this movie I highly recommend! Not only is it artistic and full of environmental issues, but it is 100% FULLY licensed under Creative Commons. Until July 2011, you can only watch Exodos at screenings that are aproved by Retsina-Film, the production studo. But fear not, like the movie, to host a screening is 100% free and easy to do! And I HIGHLY recommend it!

My screening of Exodos was last night, and it was totally amazing! I started out with informing the audience what CC License the movie was released under and what that meant, and explained a little of what Creative Commons was and how it can help the creative community.

After the movie, I asked for everyone's honest opinions about Exodos. The reviews were somewhat mixed, but over all, everyone enjoyed the film. One thing that was brought up a few times was the sound level for the speaking was somewhat uneven which at times made it a little difficult to follow the dialog.

I absolutely LOVED Exodos! I loved the environmental awareness of the movie, the love scenes were tasteful and the overall cinematic were amazing for an indie film! It is definitely a movie I want to watch again and again! Not only to enjoy it, but to see what new things I can discover about it!
